The project explores a new relationship between natural processes and architectural form through the transformation of the cooperative housing estate “Im Gut.” Inspired by the photograph Miami Puddles, crack-like natural patterns are translated into a spatial and landscape strategy that reclaims rigid urban space through light and connectivity. The urban intervention densifies the estate while strengthening the public realm, introducing new communal volumes that activate the street and establish a gradual transition from public to intimate spaces. Within the landscape, vegetated “islands” of trees and shrubs are embedded in an open field of grasses, supporting biodiversity and guiding diagonal movement. Interior spaces emphasize lightness and transparency, using shared central zones and timber structures to create spatial continuity within both new and existing apartments.
